FAB Rewards Program: How to Earn, Check & Redeem Points

FAB Rewards Program

The FAB Rewards Program gives eligible customers points for selected credit card and debit card spending, account balances, fixed deposits, loans and digital banking activity.

Rewards can be redeemed through FAB Mobile for cashback, transaction reimbursement, travel miles, vouchers and other available options. The earning rate depends on the product and transaction category.

How FAB Rewards Work

FAB Rewards are added when an eligible customer completes a qualifying banking activity.

You may earn rewards through:

  • FAB credit card purchases
  • Eligible debit card spending
  • Average current or savings account balances
  • Fixed deposits
  • New personal, auto or home loans
  • International remittances
  • Digital banking registration
  • Selected standing instructions
  • Promotional campaigns

Not every transaction earns the same number of points.

How to Check FAB Rewards Points

1. Open the FAB Website.

2. Sign in securely.

3. Select the Rewards section.

4. View the available points balance.

5. Check points earned and redeemed.

6. Review the available redemption options.

The points shown may take time to reflect after a transaction. Reversed, refunded or ineligible purchases may not earn rewards.

How to Redeem FAB Rewards

Redeem for Cashback

Cashback can be applied as a credit to an eligible card statement. FAB currently allows cashback redemption in multiples of AED 50 through the rewards service.

Reimburse a Card Transaction

Use your FAB credit or debit card for an eligible purchase, then open the Rewards section and select “Reimburse transaction.”

Eligible purchases and bank charges may appear for reimbursement within 48 hours. The selected amount is offset using available rewards and credited according to the service terms.

Exchange Rewards for Miles

Eligible customers may convert points into participating airline loyalty currencies. FAB currently lists an Emirates Skywards conversion rate of 16 FAB Rewards to one Skywards Mile, subject to programme terms.

Use Rewards for Vouchers and Travel

Available options may include:

  • Shopping vouchers
  • Dining rewards
  • Hotel bookings
  • Flights
  • Experiences
  • Retail purchases
  • Utility or banking payments
  • Promotional redemption offers

The catalogue can change, so check FAB Mobile before planning a redemption.

How Many FAB Rewards Do You Earn?

There is no single earning rate for every customer.

The number of points depends on:

  • Credit or debit card type
  • Merchant category
  • Local or foreign currency
  • Monthly earning cap
  • Promotional multiplier
  • Average account balance
  • Customer segment
  • Transaction eligibility

Some premium cards earn higher rates for travel, luxury, international or sports-related spending. Common categories such as fuel, utilities, telecom, education, supermarkets and government payments may earn a reduced rate under programme rules.

Transactions That May Not Earn Full Rewards

Depending on the card terms, reduced or no rewards may apply to:

  • Cash withdrawals
  • Cash advances
  • Balance transfers
  • Finance charges
  • Late payment fees
  • Reversed purchases
  • Refunded transactions
  • Quasi-cash transactions
  • Certain government payments
  • Selected utilities or telecom payments
  • Transactions exceeding monthly caps

Review the earning rules for your exact FAB card rather than relying on another card’s rate.

FAB Rewards Expiry

Points may expire according to the programme’s current terms. The expiry date can depend on when points were earned, the account status and the applicable rewards rules.

Check the Rewards dashboard regularly and use older points before they expire.

Why Are FAB Rewards Missing?

Transaction Is Still Pending

Points may be added only after a purchase is fully posted.

Merchant Category Earns a Lower Rate

The bank assigns rewards using the merchant category code submitted with the transaction. A shop’s business name does not always match its processing category.

Monthly Cap Was Reached

Some cards limit the points earned each month or within a bonus category.

Purchase Was Refunded

Rewards earned from a reversed transaction may be removed.

Card Is Not Eligible

Certain discontinued, corporate or specialised cards may follow separate rules.

How to Maximise FAB Rewards

  • Use the card in its strongest bonus categories.
  • Compare points value with any annual fee.
  • Avoid spending only to collect rewards.
  • Redeem before expiry.
  • Watch monthly earning limits.
  • Use transaction reimbursement for purchases you already planned.
  • Compare cashback value with airline mile value.
  • Review promotions inside FAB Mobile.

Rewards should reduce the cost of normal spending, not encourage unnecessary debt.

FAQ

How do I join the FAB Rewards Program?

Eligible FAB customers are generally enrolled according to the account, debit card, credit card or banking product they hold. Open FAB Mobile and check the Rewards section. If no rewards profile appears, confirm your product’s eligibility with FAB customer service.

How can I check my FAB Rewards balance?

Log in to FAB Mobile and open the Rewards dashboard. It displays the available points and current redemption options. Recent purchases may not appear immediately because FAB Rewards are normally calculated after an eligible transaction is posted and processed by the bank.

Can FAB Rewards be converted into cash?

Eligible points can be redeemed as cashback or used to reimburse qualifying card transactions through FAB Mobile. Cashback is currently processed in multiples of AED 50. The number of points required can change, so review the conversion value before confirming the redemption.

Why did I earn fewer FAB Rewards than expected?

The purchase may fall under a merchant category with a reduced earning rate, or you may have reached a monthly cap. Utilities, fuel, telecom, education, supermarkets and government transactions can follow different rates from general retail spending, depending on the card.

Can I convert FAB Rewards to Emirates Skywards Miles?

Yes, eligible customers can exchange FAB Rewards for Emirates Skywards Miles through the available rewards options. FAB currently lists a conversion of 16 Rewards for one Skywards Mile. Confirm the latest ratio, minimum transfer amount and processing conditions before submitting the exchange.
